Can You Put Nail Polish Over Acrylic Nails
Can You Put Nail Polish Over Acrylic Nails. You can use any Normal polish over acrylics, the polish will last until the next app. This is because acrylic nails are composed of acetone, the same ingredient which is used to polish on acrylic nails.
However, the claim that acrylic damages the natural nail is not true.
You can put acrylic nails on very short nails, so long as the natural nail is not damaged and the surrounding skin is healthy, not swollen, and is unbroken.
Once dry, the tips are buffed and nails are painted with a regular polish. Saturating the nail in acetone (i.e. those "dip-off" jars) can melt your plastic tips from under your acrylics. If you prefer, you can also use surgical gauze pads, which leave less fuzz on your nails as you take off the nail polish.
